Time Impact Analyses (TIAs)
Description
A Time Impact Analysis (TIA) is a forensic scheduling technique used to assess the impact of a specific delay event on the project timeline. It is a critical tool for determining whether a delay is excusable and compensable. At MDCD Corporation, we perform TIAs by inserting delay fragnets—fragments of the schedule that model the delay—into the project’s CPM schedule. This allows us to:
- Quantify Delay Duration: Determine the exact number of days the project is delayed.
- Evaluate Critical Path Impact: Assess whether the delay affects the project’s critical path.
- Support Time Extension Requests: Provide data-driven justification for extending the project’s completion date.
TIAs are essential for resolving disputes and ensuring that delay-related decisions are based on accurate, objective data.
